This is my blog about my medical journey through Lymphoma. I was diagnosed April 11, 2006. Currently, I am in remission with a high chance of cure. It was non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, specifically Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma. The tumors ended up being in my hip, my sternum and my backbone. I have left the blog up for anyone to read, and I also use it to remember all I went through. Because of all the drugs and stress, some of it is foggy, so it is fun to go back and see what I went through!

Cancer Survivor

The microwave has dinged and the hotpocket's insides have been thoroughly cooked. Wow, my stomach hurts.

But I'm there, done with treatment and in remission. I turn 29 one week from Friday. I never would have imagined that I would be a cancer-survivor before I was 30. Kind of weird how your plans change.

kind of weird, eh? It's been exactly 6 months since you were diagnosed, to the day. so it took exactly half a year to beat cancer.

You're only going to be 29! Dang, I'm getting old. Sorry to hear about the pain you are still going through. At least you are finally done with radiation.

Happy 29th!

Remember the movie "It's a Wonderful Life". Everytime you hear a bell ring another angel earns its wings. This time it must have been your guardian angel. He did quite a job.

You aren't totally finished until you get over the throat pain and get back in shape so you can resume jumping tall buildings. You have been a terrific inspiration to me and everyone I know. I am proud to be your Dad.

And yeh, I love you man!

Not to put any pressure on you or anything, but I think being a "cancer survivor" now means you have to go win the Tour de France or something. ;) Congratulations, this is great news! You've been such an inspiration and I'm so happy to hear you're in remission!!!

Being a "survivor" sure beats the alternative.

howdy bro from SA,

I love you bro and hate it you have to go through this, and I truly wish I could do it for you but the Lord chose you for this one, and I can see why-you are and always have been my role model and big-little brother. Keep on going bro and remember- many are the plans in a mans heart but it is always the Lords will that prevails.

ps. keep being the light for us. We all need some one to lean on and it is awesome how the Lord has blessed you with so many in your time of need.

your brother in Christ blood and ours, <>< Rusty
